Interior advice for a tiny house.

Interior advice for a tiny house.

Gone are the days when neighbors competed in house height and size. Everyone has realized that such a decision is impractical – children don’t want to live with their parents, who then remain alone in large, hard-to-maintain spaces. The younger generation doesn’t have as much time for household chores and limits themselves to minimal living spaces. Additionally, housing prices have increased.

A small house is an economical choice, but it presents another challenge. How to fit everything in so that it’s beautiful and comfortable?

Colors and the Sensation They Provide

This is the first task to which you should pay attention. Light and warm colors create coziness but reduce the sense of space. If you want more of it, opt for light and cool shades. One of the most popular choices is white. It gives a sense of spaciousness and modernity. Against its backdrop, other shades and textures will stand out – paintings, photographs, curtains, cabinets, and so on.

Floor Design

To maintain a sense of space, lay parquet or laminate planks along the longest wall. It would be even better if you could arrange them in the same direction in all rooms.

Don’t be afraid of larger rugs, which will add warmth and coziness to the floors. Again, consider the pattern and colors, which should contribute to the sensation of spaciousness.

Practicality and Functionality of Small Tiny Houses

Against the chosen color background, while maximally utilizing the spaces of walls and even stairs, arrange shelves, cabinets, closets, mirrors, televisions, and other interior elements. But don’t go overboard. If there are no empty wall spaces left, you will feel as if you are surrounded by too many items. Leave at least a minimal space for an empty area or a picture, or some other decor.

Cabinets should be designed to accommodate as many items as possible. If there are stairs, shelves can also be installed underneath them. Don’t leave space where it’s unnecessary. For example, a closet not reaching the ceiling just collects dust. If you manage to pile things on top of it, it looks unaesthetic.

If you place a table as an accent against the wall, don’t overload it with figurines and other dear but dust-collecting trinkets. Let there be one vase or another chosen decor. This way, you maintain a sense of spaciousness and lightness.

Save money

Small houses help save money because you simply can’t accumulate a lot of items in them physically. If you notice that things are always getting in the way and falling off shelves, it’s time for an inventory and to get rid of unnecessary items and clothes.

Sometimes, in beautiful photos of small house interiors, you see many decorative items on tables and shelves. But in reality, it’s different. That imagined beauty will be overshadowed by discomfort, as they will just be in the way.

Moderation and aesthetics should be your best advisors.
